Zacchaeus: The Tax Collector Who Confessed
Zacchaeus is Proverbs 28:13 made history. He had concealed his sins behind the legal mechanisms of Roman taxation. When he encountered Jesus, he did not just confess. He renounced and made restitution at enormous personal financial cost. Verse 1 says the righteous are bold as a lion. The man who could not see over the crowd ran and climbed a tree. That is not the posture of a man who is hiding anymore.
